ubuntu bootsplash problem

Why do you want to, it slows down the boot process. In any case, it 
means that one of the modules being loaded is killing the bootsplash. 
Try sending the graphics details of your computer, and which 
graphics-type modules you load at boot.

That is not major, as kubuntu-desktop does nothing for the system, it is 
only a dummy package.
