When I plug in my usb printer, I get this series of messages in
/var/log/messages

Jul 16 15:20:56 ubuntu kernel: [ 222.639594] usb 3-2: new full speed

I am running dapper. This error happens both when running kubuntu and
ubuntu (the latter runnning off the desktop cd).

I assume that it is because of this error that none of the printer
configuration tools detect the printer.

The printer does show up in /proc/bus/usb/devices and
/sys/class/usb/devices and as /dev/usblp0 as character major 180,
minor 0.

Thanks,
Emilie
