GParted won't resize a FAT32 partition.

I have a similar problem to solve on my desktop system at work. If the
space freed up by shrinking the FAT32 partition is bigger than the Linux
parition, then you should be able to copy the Linux partition into the
free space (I believe GParted will copy partitions), delete the old one
and then grow the copied partition. The partition will get a new name,
so you will have to fix up your fstab from a Live CD, and also grub's
menu.lst.

The only other solution is to use something like partimage to dump the
linux partition off, and then restore it.
