I remember a number of years ago when I had bought a copy of Slackware
3.4 and 3.5 version. They had a version on there which was something
like 4 diskettes that you could copy to a computer. Whether it was a
386, 486 or pentium and equivilant class of computer. Once unpacked
onto the hard drive it was like a total of 40 megs or so. Which isn't
that bad for a basic version including Gnome I believe or KDE> Its been
a hile since I had used that one specifivally. But it was more than
enough to use. It had a batch file that you could load up linux winthin
dos only like version 5 as am example. You could have left the files
system as a fate 32 partition. But idt never came with any applications
though with it. It was strictly the OS and X11 that were on there with
maybe one game for it at that time.
