It's been my experience that xfce runs just as slow as Gnome or KDE on
amd-k6 II processors, Celerons or pentium Is (P ones). However, there is a
big difference in performance when you use a pentium II or another processor
with a relatively large cache.
Icewm outperforms XFCE on those really old cpus.
