There is no associated configuration file; these are populated via a
mixer representation in memory. It looks like there's a codec quirk
being activated. In fact, it's beginning to look like a race condition.
What is the output from ``tail -2 /proc/asound/oss/sndstat'' when sound
works then doesn't?
