Well, that's a definite maybe :-)
Some things like wireless can take some manual tweaking that the Live CD
can't/won't do. Similarly fancy video settings can take some manual
work.
More specifics would help us nail it down better for you.
A system that works perfectly from the live cd is a system that will be
zero work to install. The more problems the live cd shows, the more
work installing it will be. These days most hardware can be make to
work, but sometimes its more work than a beginner would be interested in
doing.
