problem after installing installing 7.04 feisty

i have installe d ubuntu 7.04 on my pc on an additional partition. i already
have three partition on my windows which were all primary
I have formated the partition for ubuntu using ext3 file system and keep the
mount point / but instead of following all the guidelines when i reboot the
system and choose the ubuntu to load at start up

nothing happens and no screen appears only had disk  led keep on blinking
please tell me what is the problem and where i m wrong
is this some kind of bug
