Comments/Problems:
After the orange blob had gone to and fro about 6 times this message appeared:
/bin/sh: can't access tty: job control turned off
and then, a few seconds later:
[ 89.72282] sdc: assuming drive cache: write through
[ 89.882264] sdc: assuming drive cache: write through
And I was left at the shell prompt:
(initramfs)
I found casper.log in the root directory; the first 18 lines of this were identical:
/init: /init: 1: cannot open /dev/fd0: No such device or address
and the last line:
Unable to find a medium containing a live file system.
I tried booting several times with the same result each time, except that the numbers in square brackets varied.
I have previously instaled several Linux distros on this machine, including Ubuntu 6.06, without problems, so I am a loss as to what has gone wrong here. Any help would be apreciated.
Martin
