Feisty install No Joy

I'm trying to do a fresh install of Feisty on top of Dapper.  When I 
boot to the CD, it always freezes when I want to manually partition 
during install. (this happened several times)

I tried safe graphics mode, it froze before this.

I have tried 3 times to download the alternate CD, but it keeps stopping 
at around 90% (I've tried alternate download sites).

Am I missing a simple step?

ps: My current version is actually 6.06 Edubuntu...is this the problem?
