Installing Ubuntu from inside Ubuntu with debootstrap

Hello,

Currently I am running 64bit Ubuntu, but because of stability issues[1]
I want to switch to 32bit Ubuntu. I have already installed Debians and
Ubuntus from inside other Linuxen with debootstrap, but always on the
same architecture as the staging os.

I read the debootstrap man page, and I just want to be sure that I
understood what the --arch option means. To install 32bit Ubuntu, I only
have to do debootstrap --arch i386 intrepid /mnt/ubuntu32
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu ? Is that correct, I don't have to
install anything else? No 32bit compatibility libraries?

[1] I have experienced freezes every couple of hours. I can't even reach
it with ssh, and I don't have a serial cable. There is nothing in the
logs that indicates a problem.
There is no real pattern. It's probably a hardware problem because this
is an older 64bit cpu, but I can't be bothered to investigate the problem.
