Jaunty updates not ready

Sorry Karl, but I have to disagree with you. You can see what is going
on when you use Synaptic or the Add/Remove programs in the Applications
menu. In either program after you've selected the packages to install
and click on the Apply button, you can click where it says "Show for
individual files" and see it as each package is downloaded. Then when
it goes to install, just click where it says "Details" and it opens a
window where you can see the installation progress.
Only thing is that there doesn't appear to be a way to make these
windows open automatically by default. Instead you have to open them
every time you use Synaptic or Add/Remove programs.
