Inappropriate tone on this mailing list and requirement for governance

According to Res:
# There are far more people on this list who fail to trim the fat in hteir
# posts then any top posters, I also put it to you that bottom posters
# (to lenghty posts) should be frowned upon as equally as top posters, as
# that is no different to top posting, in fact top posting IMHO is more
# welcome, since you dont have to scroll down 5 pages of crap to see someone
# make a one worded reply

A *huge* second here. I couldn't have said it better myself. Being a speech
user, I find it difficult to get to an actual reply when I have to arrow through
quoted text at all. At this point, there is no way that my screen reader will
allow me to just skip all the stuff I already read and get down to the meat of
the reply. So either a top post where I can arrow down to find something
referenced from a previous message that isn't immediately clear to me, or an
inline post with all the unnecessary cruft trimmed out is much better for me.
This is why normally, I choose to clarify my replies without quoting wherever
possible. It's just easier for me to read, and hopefully for others as well.
Trimming and snipping as much as possible, or even clarifying a reply without
quoting are definitely the best compromises to allow visually impaired people
like myself as well as those who can see the screen to easily read the message
in question.

Live long and prosper,
Lorenzo
