Remote Desktop Viewing

I'm trying to view a remote desktop on my local network and all I get is
a black screen.

I've enabled remote viewing on both machines, setup a password and
allowed remote control.  I then try to use the
Applications->Internet->Remote Desktop View program.  I see the other
computer, I can double click on it, enter my password and then nothing
but a black screen.

Ideas?
