This is the best multi-media how-to for several versions of
Ubuntu/Kubuntu and it covers everything from mp3's to streaming video
and playing dvd's.  Since it covers several version there is a lot of
stuff repeated, but scroll though it and see what they have done that
you didn't.  There are even some troubleshooting tips at the end of the
how-to.
