Hi,
the USB stick shouldn't be a problem. I did try also the following:
- had a 'official' Ubuntu DVD from the Ubuntu users magazine and tried to
boot via a USB connected DCD-RW device the 9.10 version. During that attempt
I was able to view the logo and select the 'live' option from the primary
menu. When proceeding, after a while, got 'kernel panic' error message!
- attempted to run 10.04 Desktop (both 64 and 32 bits) and Netbook remix but
the same result happens. I get the first menu and after a while the machine
freezes. Please notice that this happens when I try to install it as well!
No peripherals are connected to the notebook and bios was upgraded to v2.50
(latest!) before trying all the above!
I can reformat the HD and get rid Win7 but what if this will not help? :)
Then my machine is dead and I have to spend few days to bring it back to
Toshiba for a re-install. :(
Thanks
