BCRYPT - Why not using it?

Interesting. Yeah, why isn't this standard? It seems that the existing PAM
libraries could be updated to work with both MD5 and BCRYPT even. It seems
silly that MD5 (which has been known to be obsolete for years now) is still
the standard. And rainbow tables are easy to come by.
