I hesitated to ask, it's something that usually gets the RTFM answer.
Since I'm rather illiterate concerning bash script, even downloaded
the whole ... 500 pages manual (Sriranga Veeraraghavan's  Shell
Programming in 24 Hours), but have been postponing the actual reading,
perhaps afraid of the "heavy" task. :-)
