Someone once said that the only constant is change. If you don't change
you get left behind. I guess software has to keep up with the Joneses also.

As far as desktop computers, well, I think they will get smaller. I have
a little Acer mini desktop, and it's a great little computer. But, it
has some serious heat issues and it's not expandable in any meaningful
way. I have to keep the side panel off and have a fan blowing into the
case to keep it from melting down. Not a very good engineering idea.

I would hate to have a laptop as my main computer. I have one that very
well could be, but as a full time replacement for my desktop it would
suck. Works great for when we travel to use in the hotel.

I also have an Asus Netbook and a Dell Inspiron Duo Tablet/Netbook. I
love both of them for different reasons. They both are small,
lightweight and easy to tote around. The Dell has all the best features
of a Netbook but also doubles as a tablet, which is very handy in some
situations. The Dell also has the touch screen and as a tablet it works
fine but I wouldn't want to just have the touch screen to work with. I
can fat finger a keyboard bad enough. With a touch screen it just sucks.
I use the tablet function as an e-book reader a lot and trying to turn
pages by touching that little tiny "button" is a pain. It cost just a
little bit more than a dedicated e-book reader but has all the
functionality of a computer to boot. And, a lot less than an I-pad.
Pretty good I figure.
