For me, the question of tablet vs. desktop all boils down to the keyboard and 
expandability.  The tablet form is good if you are just a consumer of 
information.  If you are a producer, you really need a keyboard to be 
productive. Can you imagine writing a multi page document an a tablet?  It can 
be done but what a pain that would be.  You could have a plug in keyboard and 
monitor, but that would eliminate the mobility of a tablet and confine it to a 
desk.  Also, laptops and tablets will never be as expandable as a desktop.
