Why does the startup disk creator suck so bad?

I /think/ you have put this on the wrong package, I think it should be
usb-creator-gtk, though I could be wrong as I don't know about the
package you mention (usb-creator).  It is a good idea when reporting a
bug to use ubuntu-bug <package_name> so that the appropriate version
information and so on will be reported against the bug.  As you have
reported it there is no indication as to which version of Ubuntu or
the application you are reporting the bug against.
