question on logrotate

Semi routine disk usage for a smaller machine showed over 26Gb. Similar
machine, doing similar work, 2.6G.
Found that a ucvideo error had been spewing 300 lines a second into the
/var/log/kern.log (now kern.log.1) and that from the 8th to the 12th, had
spewed a bit over 20Gb. It only stopped when I did a reboot because the
camera on the milling machine had stopped working.
I just nuked that file.
I don't know enough about how logrotate works, and there are even older
kern.logs.# still there.
Is this going to confuse logrotate, when it finds a missing file in its
rotation?
Cheers, Gene Heskett
