Are you forced to buy windows in order to solve certain tasks on the internet e.g. like certain banktasks and to update garmin gps maps and other

I tried DraftSight few years back, but it kept crashing on ubuntu
12.04 64 bit, therefore could not use it for serious work.
This one being licensed and paid for (support included) gives me some
bragging rights :) . DWG compatible from EU.
