Hi,

I just performed a fresh installation of Ubuntu Server 12.04. I can't
install the 'dnsmasq package'. Here's what I get:

--8<------------------------------------------------------

# apt-get install dnsmasq
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
dnsmasq : Depends: dnsmasq-base (>= 2.59-4) but it is not going to be
installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

--8<------------------------------------------------------

Since I'm normally relying on Dnsmasq for DHCP/DNS configuration in
local networks (usually on Slackware), this is quite much a showstopper.

Any suggestions?

Cheers from the sunny South of France,
