${LOGNAME} vs. ${USER}

Which is the correct path for my SD card ”H6_SD”?
"/media/${LOGNAME}/H6_SD"
or
"/media/${USER}/H6_SD"?

In my case, both ${LOGNAME} and ${USER} happens to be the same, so both
work, but I guess that's not always true, is it?
