HP Laserjet Pro 400 color M451nw has turned noisy in Ubuntu 12.04

Hello,
This printer on a Dell Inspiron computer now has a lot of graphiic noise 
in the top half of the test page or any other printout, The noise is 
mainly massed short bars in the upper part of the page with only a small 
amount on the text in the lower half.
On a second Inspiron S computer with Windows 7 the same printer behaves 
completely normally.
I have tried to reload the accompanying CD but I am not sure how to 
replace the installation.
Help will be appreciated.
