I don't remember the reasons, but IIRC several users migrated from
RecordMyDesktop to vokoscreen.

When I googled for "recordmydesktop vs vokoscreen" the first hit I got
was:

I didn't read it. After taking a look at 3 expensive Linux magazines at
my local supermarket's bookstall a few days ago, I wouldn't be
surprised, if the information provided by the link is useless, but
since it's for free as in beer, it might be worth to skim through the
article.
