Well, what _does_ it display?
If there is some problem with setting the graphics mode, you can
disable the splash screen.
Edit the GRUB command line by pressing E on the boot screen. From the
end of the Linux line, remove "quiet" and "nosplash". Optionally also
add "nomodeset".
Then press F10 to boot.
If this gives the desired result, then you can edit /etc/default/grub
to make it permanent. Rerun `update-grub` to make it permanent.
