I'll have to try at the original location. On the 5Ghz connection to
a different AP using the IP instead of 'dns' it seems marginally
better but the problem is much less noticeable anyway.

I used to have it set up on 192.168.13.0/24 but got fed up with
changing it to that so reverted to 192.168.1.0/24. If I ever set up a
VPN (unlikely, I use proxies when I need that sort of thing) it'll be
running on my own server so I can choose whatever IP I like at both
ends. I have three LANs on my router anyway.
