Hi,

seriously, I admired that switchable solution you mentioned a long time
ago. Related to the age of the hardware used by the OP it's likely a
solution, but such a switch is probably a tower PC and not a laptop
solution. For modern Intel CPUs with integrated GPUs there's no choice
at all, since those GPUs don't allow legacy boot at all.
