I'm not sure how useful this will be for you, but I have a computer
that has two drives on it. One has Kubuntu on it and the other has
Windows on it. I've got a manual switch that physically disconnects
each drive so that neither operating system is aware of the existence
of the other and I just boot into whichever one I selected with the
manual switch. One operating system uses UEFI and the other uses BIOS,
so I go into my settings on boot and choose the correct one for the
operating system I'm booting into when I switch between them.
