Thank you for that.

The response that I get, is

"
:~ > apt policy yt-dlp
yt-dlp:
   Installed: 2022.04.08-1
   Candidate: 2022.04.08-1
   Version table:
      2024.04.09-1~bpo22.04.1 100
         100 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy-backports/universe
amd64 Packages
         100 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy-backports/universe
i386 Packages
  *** 2022.04.08-1 500
         500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy/universe amd64 Packages
         500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy/universe i386 Packages
         100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

"

What does that mean, in terms of the status of version
2024.04.09-1~bpo22.04.1 100
with regard to the backports repository, and, whether Synaptic and the
Update Manager should find that version?

Do I need to use a command line command, rather than a GUI package
manager, to update the package, if the package is available but unseen
to the GUI package managers?
