24.04: won't wake up from power-save/power-down

Hello,

I experience trouble with power-safe/power-down modes on a Fujitsu-Siemens
Celsius h730 with freshly installed from ubuntu-24.04-live-server-amd64.iso

It doesn't make a difference whether I simply close the lid or the laptop goes
to sleep after 3 minutes of being idle when running on battery. The laptop
enters sleep mode but there is no way to wake it up again. Only way to bring
it up again is to press power button until it gets hard power-off and then to
have a regular fresh boot.

I had ubuntu-18.04 running on that laptop before and never had any issues with
power-down/wakeup.

Any hints how to track down the problem?
