Colin:
I did use the word "force" so you are correct to call me out on this, and
while it may not have been obvious, I wasn't using it in the political
sense of physical force, but in the metaphorical sense of pushing this
repackaging in the face of much vocal opposition from the user base, with
clear implementation problems, and with what seemed to me and others, to
provide very little overall benefit.
Anyway, I was expressing some frustration at what I saw as added overhead
to a good OS distribution, and yes, we all have choices. This isn't the
thread to continue this discussion, but I apologize for being unclear in
my choice of words.
