How can I get a newer ffmpeg on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

I need to get the latest ffmpeg on my Linux server running 20.04 LTS.
I need to use a new ffmpeg function called hybrid_fragmented which is available
in the latest version...

How can I upgrade from the version ffmpeg version 4.3.2-0york0~18.04 provided by
the Ubuntu distribution?

Note:
This box was originally created when Ubuntu was 16.04 and I have done
dist-upgrades twice to 18 and then 20. Strangely the apt policy command returns
an 18.04 version for ffmpeg, why is that?

But anyway, I assume upgrading the distribution at this time will not help so is
there any way I can get ffmpeg to the latest version on the current Ubuntu
level?
