yes, I've read all that. But that's exactly why I wonder it takes so long:

    The necessary updates are already in the pipeline, and we expect to
    re-enable upgrades very soon.

Sounds to me as if all the bugs are fixed already, and the changes just 
need to be rolled out.

But anyway, better to be careful than to introduce new bugs.
