Query about ffmpeg 8

I don't think you can expect ffmpeg 8 to be released for Ubuntu 22.04 at all. Usually new package versions are only available for new Ubuntu releases. There are exeptions though, like firefox which comes as a snap package.

So I think there are two options: 
- You could download directly from <https://ffmpeg.org/download.html>.
- You install from a ppa like it is explained here <https://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2024/04/ffmpeg-7-0-ppa-ubuntu/>.
