off topic! internal usb port breaking

your new (??) laptop only has 1 usb port and you want to protect it.


One option would be to get a multi-port usb dongle, so you are plugging in
only the dongle but still have multiple usb ports to plug in and out of. 


Are you worried about moving multiple things in and out of the port wearing it out?
Are you just worried that one wrong move with something in the port will be end 
of that port? 


If you purchased a laptop with only one port instead of several - like my thinkpads
come with - it just means you will have to be aware of your movements to protect it.
