How to install Ubuntu Server 24.04.1 LTS with custom partitions?

It *is* possible, just not with an already initialized drive...

I removed the EFI and home partitions I had made with GParted making the drive
empty and then tested again and now I can configure the mounts as I wanted and
add the /, /home, /var/lib/svn and /var/video partitions and set their
respective sizes! :-)

And the installer created the EFI partition all by itself too.

So I have a new server 24.04.1 LTS on new hardware, maybe I should just try to
copy the installation details from the original server (if I can remember all
details)...

This involves the Apache webserver with its Letsencrypt certs and auto-renewal,
a Subversion server with its repository and apache hooks, the OpenVPN server and
more.
