Unable to see modem's USB drive

Thank you for reading this.

Xubuntu 25.04.

I've just received my tp-link VX220 modem and although I can log into
the modem as admin and I can see that the USB drive is detected, Thunar
does not list the drive under "networks". It's been many years since
I've had a landline, however, I'm almost certain that Thunar listed my
previous modem's connected USB drive.

tp-link's admin page lists the usb drive as:

folder name: volume(sda1)
volume name: sda1

A second problem that I think is related is that I cannot log into my
raspberry pi using ssh.

tp-link's admin page lists my laptop and the raspberry pi and shows
their network addresses which I have verified using Angry IP Scanner.

This is the error message:

ssh phil at raspberrypi.local

ssh: connect to host raspberrypi.local port 22: Connection refused

I tried my wireless modem and ssh works as normal.

There could be a setting on the admin page that I've overlooked but
nothing stands out. An Internet search has been fruitless although I
haven't tried AI yet. Shouldn't the port be 80 rather than 22?

Phil
