my NTFS external HDD, not seen by desktop, but is by laptop

Dear All

On the laptop it works on USB 2 and USB 3

On the desktop it works on all USB ports, except one.  Via the lsusb
command it would appear that the desktop does not have any USB 3 ports.

Hope that clarifies things
