nemo / 25.10 (questing) open as root not working

Hi 

On 25.10 still (after a few updates) hitting the same problem with

"open as root" from within nemo, i.e.

select /etc
right click "open as root"
nothing happens


checking journal

~$ sudo journalctl -r|grep nemo

Nov 07 13:41:28 Cludia nemo.desktop[2730]: Error creating textual 
authentication agent: Error opening current controlling terminal for the 
process (`/dev/tty'): No such device or address

 but

~$ ls /dev/tty -all
crw-rw-rw- 1 root tty 5, 0 Nov  7 13:43 /dev/tty

any ideas, anybody

checked polkit1 actions are exactly the same as on my working 24.04.3 (Nobal)
