Is asking a Mercedes Shop about a VW specific problem with your diesel
emnission cheating device a "better place" just because the Mercedes
shop is in walking distance of your home ?

The hacks the Elementary guys do to their greeter are simply not in any
Ubuntu archive packages so nobody here will experience them the same
way you do, the only people that can answer are the ones that know
about these hacks (unless you lure someone here into actually going
through the code changes they do) ...
