I take your point, if I had a working relationship with the Mercedes shop and 
valued there opinions and would share them in a reasonible time scale, more if 
it were a Porche, Audi or even SEAT shop as they are at a level all owned my 
the same entity

It was ubuntu update that prceded the display stopping working, and I thought 
that with the journal output I posted someone may see something that "could" 
help
