It seems to exactly the same, with the nomodeset it works but only at
1280x1024, without it the same as X11 cycle blank screen then fuzzy wallpaper,
as pointed out by Oliver it looks like the greater is crashing, I did try auto
logon to see if that could get past but no change

I'm on wrong box at the moment to do
lshw -c Display (to get the cards code name)
but I know it was using the i915 driver, have compared (name, date & size) the
files for that driver with the ones on my 24.04.3 unity install they look
identical (not run diff or comp)
