One piece to add... If the tag is no longer available, I _think_ the
op may be able to pull the info using dmidecode(8). From a HP laptop
I am working on:

$ sudo dmidecode --type system
# dmidecode 3.6
Getting SMBIOS data from sysfs.
SMBIOS 3.4 present.

Handle 0x0001, DMI type 1, 27 bytes
System Information
       Manufacturer: HP
       Product Name: HP ENVY Laptop 17-cr1xxx
       Version: Type1ProductConfigId
       Serial Number: CND3290DJ2
       UUID: 1325ca03-2525-ee11-8c92-bc0ff3d8c104
       Wake-up Type: Power Switch
       SKU Number: 755B9AV
       Family: 103C_5335M8 HP ENVY

And `dmidecode --type bios` should provide BIOS or UEFI version numbers.
