Since there are typically a lot of backend machines involved, file
servers, databases, mirrors etc and often all these machines need to be
re-populated with terabytes and terabytes of data.

So even if the status page shows that the internet facing frontent
machine is back up it usually takes a while until all backend services
are fully back to operational, in such cases, just be patient and try
later again ...
