[ubuntu-za] Mail between two versions of Thunderbird

I've been watching this thread as I said I would and would comment as 
follows....

Most times I have tried these various "tips & Tricks" the best I get an 
"empty" mailbox!! By empty I mean that it has a size and if you look 
inside it there is data there but in TB itself it is just - empty!! no 
messages at all.

After wrestling with this for a few days I give-up.
