Sadly we're talking at cross purposes here.I obviously haven't explained
clearly. If I could only get to the point of being able to select auto
or manual, I'd be flying. That I can do just fine.
My problem is that after wiping the disk clean and trying to install an
OS, ubuntu, mandriva, debian, doesn't matter which, I keep getting the
"initrmfs no file system" error. Ubuntu 10.04 & 10.10 both load to the
little red dots moving across the screen and then the initrmfs error. It
doesn't load to the point where I can use a command line or terminal.
Sorry, I seem to have not been too clear originally. All the OS's
mentioned are "live" cd's
7.04 loads just fine, however, when I try & install 10.04,or any
other,on top of this, up pops the "initrmfs no file system error".
Help!:-)

Vincent
