[ubuntu-za] Screensaver app disables on Ubuntu 12.04

The screensaver app on my Ubuntu 12.04 disables itself every time I 
reboot. The settings also do not seem to work very well, it seems to 
revert to a blank screen after a short while irrespective of the settings.

This app worked very well when I had the 64 bit version installed, but I 
reverted to 32 bit due to memory problems.

Has anyone had similar experiences?
